Personalized, one-on-one care designed to help you recover faster and stay active for the long term.
That experience is often the result of unresolved trauma. When your nervous system has learned to stay guarded, numb, or on edge, your mood and reactions shift without a clear trigger. Your past may still be shaping how safe life feels.
Those patterns can be understood and reshaped into powerful sources of healing.
A focused first conversation is how that shift begins.

“Her gentle presence helped me feel safe and gain confidence.”
Dr. Mihaela’s steady approach helped me work through anxiety around performance and imposter syndrome. I felt supported while rebuilding confidence.
I feel empty or disconnected even when life looks stable.
I second-guess myself constantly and call it overthinking.
I keep repeating the same relationship dynamic.
I work hard and achieve, and still feel like an imposter.
I shut down or react faster than I want to.
I carry a quiet sense that something in me is not right.
I’m Dr. Mihaela Ivan, founder of Creative Minds Psychotherapy. My work is trauma-focused and root-oriented. Rather than managing symptoms alone, we look at what shaped your nervous system, attachment patterns, and sense of self.

We begin by identifying what keeps repeating in your life and relationships and tracing it back to where it began. Using psychoanalytic therapy, we examine the unconscious strategies your mind developed to stay safe and why they still show up today.

Trauma work should not feel destabilizing. We build regulation first using practical tools from CBT and solution-focused therapy so you can manage triggers, reduce overwhelm, and feel steadier between sessions.

When you feel steady enough, we work directly with traumatic memory networks using EMDR and attachment-focused trauma work. Relational and affective neuroscience guide how safety is built, so change holds outside the therapy room.

Less bracing. Less numbness. More consistent regulation instead of swinging between shutdown and overwhelm.

Reactions become less automatic. You respond with more choice and less reflex.

The internal criticism that once felt constant begins to lose authority.

You recognize repeating dynamics sooner and set boundaries with less fear or guilt.

Instead of asking what is wrong with me, you see how your system adapted and how it can change.

Not a different person. Just less burdened by what no longer needs to run the show.
Change does not feel dramatic. It feels stable.

Trauma is not limited to a single dramatic event. Chronic stress, attachment wounds, emotional neglect, or repeating relational patterns can shape your nervous system just as deeply. If something feels stuck, it deserves attention.

No. The work is structured and paced. You are never pushed to share more than you are ready for. The focus is on reducing emotional charge, not re-experiencing pain for its own sake.

Stability comes first. We build regulation and internal support before processing deeper material. You will not be asked to go further than your system can handle.

Directories and large platforms often outrank independent practice sites in Google Search and Maps.

Large group practices and telehealth brands invest heavily in SEO (ex. BetterHelp, Ellie Mental Health, LifeStance)

Most SEO advice is generic, so it’s hard to know what really improves rankings for therapists.

Many providers deliver blog volume, not a ranking strategy tied to services and location.

Without a clear plan and tracking, it’s difficult to know what is actually driving inquiries.

Trauma can continue to shape how safe life feels long after an experience has passed. Trauma therapy in Los Angeles helps address what is driving the pattern, so real change becomes possible.
If you’re ready to move beyond coping and build steadier responses in daily life, the next step is a focused first conversation.
The length of therapy depends on your goals and the depth of what you are working through. Some clients notice meaningful shifts within weeks, while more complex or long-standing patterns may require longer-term work.
We discuss what brings you to therapy, what you have already tried, and what you would like to change. You will also have space to ask questions and determine whether this approach feels aligned with you.
Most clients begin with weekly sessions. In certain situations, such as during periods of crisis or when more intensive work is needed, meeting twice per week may be recommended.
The fee for individual sessions ranges from $250–$450. Payment is collected at the beginning of each session to preserve the closing space for reflection and integration.
The practice is out-of-network. A SuperBill can be provided if you plan to seek reimbursement through your insurance provider. Benefits and limitations can be discussed so you can make an informed decision.
